Miss Doris Hinshaw, Boise nurse who has been doing special work at the Ontario hospital, visited this week at the S. D. Goshert and Mar ion Klinkenberg homes. Miss Hin- saw is a former Nyssa resident. Miss Eva Boydell and Miss Mae Platt of Ontario left Wednesday morning for Long Beach, Calif., ornia, where they will attend sum mer school. They aLso plan to visit the exposition at San Diego and other places of interest while away. Eddie Powell took several boys on a fishing trip this week. Those in the party were Joe Robertson. War- | ren Larsen, Lloyd Wilson and his nephew Tommy Morris of Weiser. They left Tuesday night and plan ! to return Thursday. ! Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Pruyn and Dr. and Mrs. C. A. Abbott left Tuesday for a ten day camping trip | to Hazard lak e in Idaho. While they are gone Mrs. Florence Meyer will stay with Mrs. Fauchler, motlier of Mrs. Abobtt. Geo. Bertsch was pleased with a visit from his brother Ed. Bertsch. whom he had not seen for twenty- eight years. The visitor accompanied by his son-in-law, are from Brook ins, S. D. and were on their way to Redmond on business. They were here for only a short stop Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Short and daughter Jean returned Sunday evening from Portland. Mrs. Short and daughter accompanied her sis ter, Mrs. Joe Sodja to her home last week and Mr, Short, after fishing near Summit Prairie Tuesday and Wednesday drove over after them. Aubrey Fletcher, Jr„ of Eugene, visited a few days last week with Ills father Attorney A. L. Fletcher. They made a trip to thedr old home at Richfield. Idaho ,to visit with relatives. The younger Mr. Fletcher has been teaching In the Eugene schools but has accepted a position as principal of the high school at Crane. Oregon for the coming year. Mrs. M. M. Greellng, president of the Malheur County Parent Teacher Association returned Saturday morning from Portland where she attended the school for county presidents. She reports a very inter esting and instructive meeting. While there she had a short visit with Mrs. Bruce Kester, formerly of this county, who Is now state re cording secretary for the Parent- | Teachers association.
