Adrian—Twenty-five 8th grader] re­
ceived their sheepskins at the com­
mencement exercises In Kingman Kol-
ony school house last Thursday even­
ing. Wade, Owyhee, Lower Bend. Ore­
gon Trail and the Kolony school took
part. Rev. Josie J. Blokland gave in­
vocation; Ingrid Ahoe of Wade school,
vocal selections; Mrs. Albert Rust of
Owyhee, humorous readings and Hubert
Jones of Oregon Trail, a vocal solo.
Supt. Leo D. Hollenberg of Nyssa
gave the commencement talk and pre­
sented diplomas to the following gradu­
ates;
Wade: Ross Johnston, Ingrid Aho,
Vera McConnell, Jean LaRue, Dean
Eachus, Fred Gibson, Velma Hecka-
thorne and Helen Cartwright.
Kingman Kolony; Raymond Holly,
Leonard Nichols, Arnold Slippy, Harold

The Kingman Kolony Boy Scout
Troop attended the Court of Honor
at Nyssa Friday evening. The following
boys from the Kingman Kolony troop
received certificates and tenderfoot
badges: Arnold Slippy, Byrd Walters,
Raymond Holly, Ross Johnston, Dean
Eachus, Leonard Nichols, Bob Winters,
William Peutz, Gerrit Timmerman,
Arthur Cartwright Frank Huffman,
Jack Rust, Gerald Slippy, Frederick
Gibson, James Nichols, Richard Holly
and William Holly.
The Scout troop met Monday evening
in Adrian with full attendance. They
planned to hold regular meetings on
Sunday afternoon at Adrian.
Wilbur Roberts is completing the
erection of a new garage.
Nyssa high school baseball nine play­
ed a 4 to 4 tie with the Adrian team
here Tuesday evening. Dusk ended the
game at five Innings.
Monday E. G. Hopkins flew his air­
plane to Mountain Home where he
visited with his brother. Sunday he flew
to Payette.
Mrs. Lizzie Holly of Big Bend, will
leave Friday for Los Angeles where she
will visit relatives and also attend the
wedding of her granddaughter who is
to be married in June.
Adrian stores closed Monday for
Memorial Day.
Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Johnson and
little daughter left Monday for a two
weeks vacation in the Boise Mountains.
They will go on to California.
Mr. and Mrs. D. T. and J. E. Holly
and families visited the Nampa gold­
fish farms Monday.
Captain and Mrs. H. Lee Noe were In
town a short time Monday.
Daily Vacation Bible school started
at the Wade school Tuesday.
Mrs. Amelia Johnston is spending a
few weeks in the W. F. Shultz home In
Big Bend.
Adrian boys baseball team trounced
Arena Valley nine, Sunday morning
14 to 5 In a seven Inning tilt. Hitting
honors went to Kenneth Parker who
knocked 2 homers, 1 threebase hits and
1 two base hit in 6 times to bat.
The Adrian team was defeated by
Apple Valley at Big Bend Park Sunday
8 to 7. Adrian team had a run to the
good in the 9th Inning when two errors
cost the game.
