Owyhee held its annual school picnic last Tuesday at the school house. A ball game between the boys and married men followed by another game between the Owyhee boys and the Kolony boys were the chief attractions if one fails to mention a goodly supply of ice cream and cake. A good commun ity turnout was reported and a jolly time. A list of young people who have largely attended Owyhee school in the past and who are high school graduates of varions schools at this spring’s commencement are: Jesse Thomason, now of Emmett, Anna Schweizer of Ontario, Gladys and Louise Garrison and Juanita Bige low, ofN yssa, and Mildred DeBord of Walla Walla. Carl Schweizei finished high school in Boise at the mid-eyar semester and is now a freshman in the University of Washington, where he is planning on attending summer school in order to enter the University as a soph omore in the fall. Friends will be glad to hear that Mrs. Charles Schweizer, who taught here several years, has been re employed at the two-room rural school at Hood River, where she isi principal, with a raise in salary of $20 a month. Grandma Bradley has receiced word that her daughter, Mrs. Ben Mathiesen of Emmett, who recently underwent an operation for appen dtcTtis and gall stones under the care o f Dr. Phy of Hot Lake sani tarium, is much better and was to return home the first of the week. The Wade school was again the lucky contestant amass ing the geratest number of scores from the rural schools, taking for this meet 190 points, and thus has likewise added a silver loving cup to trophy collection, as this w h s their third year. The Wade school se cured another prize when Victor Hickox one o f its students, took the boy’s cup given by the Vale Com mercial Club with a total score of 21(4. Crail, county school superintendent, had offered a cup to the school having the greatest percentage present.
