Event Will Be Held on New
Year’s Eve— Anction Sale of
Baskets Feature of Evening-
It will happen on New Years, th a t is
to say on the evening of D ecember 31,
1917, and continue into aometim e the
next year. Yes. you guessed it the
first time—the Red Croes has arranged
th at big dance and basket auction es
pecially for you. Everybody is up on
ids toes. I t is one of those g re a t big,
live, timely events. You have been to
a Red Cross benefit before in Nysea
and you know how the people feel
adout it. You couldn’t keep the good
people for miles around out of the
opera house on New Y ear’s eve with
anything short ot a tornado.
This is absolutely som ething new.
The music will be alive with th a t kind
of melody th a t infects folks’ feet.
B eam guard’s orchestra will be there.
The dance s ta rts a t 8:30 Monday night,
December 31. No b e tte r tim e could
be appointed for a dance. The fact
th a t this event is under the auspices of
the Red Cross is full assurance th a t
the dance will be a social event of dis
tinction and th a t it will be w orthy of
the good order th a t has distinguished
all Red Cross entertainm ents.
Now, here is the real treat. A bas
ket auction will tuke place some tim e
during the evening. J u s t for a m inute
you men will g et a chance to bid on
the basket of the girl you w ant to e a t
with. Everybody will be invited to the
Cozy th eatre for thie event. A fte r the

will again proceed a t -he opera house
until such tim e as everpbody w an ts it
to stop. Now, d ear reader, you know
as well aa anyone th a t no one can pre
dict ju s t when th a t tim e will be.
The Red Cross society is p artiru lary
anxious to know th a t the ladies will
take due note of tho fact th a t they are
expected to bring the baskets. No in-
s'ructions fu rth e r than this is neces
sary to a N yssa girl as everyone for
miles around knows.
Remem ber, it is all for the Red
Cross. You g et a chance to aid w ith a
smile. In a world in sorrow a b rig h t
thought is as valuable aB any and the
smiles of this occasion will go to m axe
easy the cause o t those who suffer. G et
in and keep N yssa in her place of honor
in Red Cross w ork th a t your generous
support has made ours now.
Remember, it is on New Y ear’s, the
