Clifford Fowler received news
of the death of his brother-
in-law. Carl Biggs last week. He
passed away Monday at the St.
Joseph Hospital in Kelso, Wash­
ington.
Mrs William Cavinne was
taken to the Forest Grove hospi­
tal Thursday night by ambu­
lance. She cam e home Friday
evening Her sister and family
Mr. and Mrs Dean Sauer of
Ridgefield. Washington visited
her on Sunday.
Tom Graves of Yamhill is
helping out at Claude's Service
station while Mr Veal is having
trouble with his knee.
Mr.
Graves is staying with his
mother, Mrs Mabel Graves.
49 Year Record Falls

time in the 49 years that Mrs.
Minnie Ratkie has lived in her
house here, there was flood-
water in her house. She spent one
night at the John Normand
home Her son, Wally and a
grandson. David Keck of Port­
land, helped get things back in
order She also appreciates the
help of all the local people who
helped

flood time at the home of her

ed the Sundlands Sunday after­
noon The Sundlands also at­
tended the William Bridgers
funeral, along with other resi­
dents of the valley, in Vernonia
last Thursday.
Due to the recent heavy rains
and high water, som e of the
homes in the valley had water in
them, and many of the valleys
residents opened their homes to
fam ilies who had to evacuate
from their homes.
