Amy Hughes saw the Univer­
sity of Oregon-Oregon State
College game, remaining over­
night in Portland
Ronnie Anderegg, son of Mr
and Mrs Henry Anderegg had
enrolled in the School of Arts
Instruction which provided in­
struction under top artists.

A statement was issued by
Superintendent Eugene Dove re-
arding the SiuO.OOO fire which
estroyed the Vernonia High
School gym November 14 In it
he stated that officials of the
state fire marshall's office said
cause of the fire was unknown
and the superintendent caution­
ed residents not to speculate and
spread rumors about the case
Several people reported the
presence of a large cougar in the
vicinity west of the city limits

at 31 cents a pound and Parkay
Margarine, one pound at 25
cents? Remember the ration
stamps that went with the price
for those items?

Noble Dunlap was elected
master of the Natal Grange with
Louis Carmicheal chosen as
overseer.
The war department has never
controlled the sale of penicillin,
stated Surgeon General Norman
Kirk, in answer to a civilian
request for the new drug which
prevents growth of infectious
bacteria. The general went on to
say that anyone wishing the drug
should make
their
request
through their civilian doctor.
