Child­ ren in Oregon and Southw est Washington are diagnosed and followed at the C-F Center. Cystic fibrosis, an incurable gentic d isea se, is inherited when both parents carry the recessiv e gene for C-F It is believed that one in tw enty persons or 10 m illion A m ericans m ay carry the C - F gene, usually without knowing it.
