Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carlock, accompanied by Mr and Mrs. Ken Simmons drove to Cannon Beach to visit her folks. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Simmons. The occasion was a birthday dnner for Mrs. Pam Garlock. Mrs. Bernice Garlock had a par ty at her home Tuesday night with ii! c.gu?sts' Harriet Kitchen was the Stanley dealer. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hansen were special guests at the Sen ior Banquet Saturday night in Ver nonia. All school board members of Vernonia were invited. The Sen ior Banquet is an annual event before the VHS prom. Ladies Attend Bridal Shower Sat. Evening BIRKENFELD — Mrs. Francis I arson and Mrs. Herbert Rodgers attended a bridal shower for Miss Marcia Hadeen at the Seaside Baptist Church Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bixbv of Portland visited at the Francis Larson home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Nordstrom attended the wedding of Benny Benson and Miss Donna Zacher at Lincoln City Saturday. They re mained overnight, coming home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Watson were in Portland last TYiursday. Last Friday, Mrs. Lloyd Beach and Mrs. Robert Mathews were in St. Helens visiting relatives. Mrs. Bob DuPuis is serving on jury duty. Last Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Beach were in Astoria and Manzanita visiting relatives. Sales Open at Fishhawk Lake BIRKENFELD—Saturday there was open house at Fishhawk I^ike. I hey opened sales on lots for this summer Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wat son, along with others, were host and hostess. ui?ir ' ,and ^ rs' Mick Berg and the 1 hil Layman family went clam- digging Sunday morning, and had good luck. Mr and Mrs. Jim Watson visit ed Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hiatt at the lake Saturday evening. E. T. Johnston, accompanied by Howard Jones, flew his Diane to Hoquiam Sunday morning where they dug clams. Art Bellingham accompanied bv Mr. and Mrs Trent Garner, also flew there to dig. They all report “good luck." Sunday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Watson visited Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Walker in their camper at the lake. They also stopped by and talked with the Joe Ashtons, who are building a new cottage at the lake. Mr. and Mrs. Bob DuPuis and Bill drove to Seaside Sunday, where they attended church. Mrs. Winifred Hult arrived Mon day evening for a visit with her sisters, Mrs. Joe Lonnquist and Mrs. Arby Mills. Wednesday, they all shopped in Portland. Thiirsdav. Mrs. Hult returned to her home at Horton. Mr. and Mrs. Vick Berg enjoy ed their wedding anniversary din ner Friday evening, April 23. at the Layman home at Elsie. Also there were Walt Berg, and his two children. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Nord strom stopped in at the Irvin Heik kilä home at Cornelius Sunday on their way home from the Benson- Zacher wedding. Mrs. Lena Gardner of Drain, visited their sister, Mrs Carrie Brown at the Watson Nur mg Home at Battle Ground. Wash ington Wednesday.
