Oernonia Eagle THURSDAY, MARCH 4, 1965) 7 Kysers Receive News of Birth MIST — Mr. and Mrs .Claude Ky- ser received word Thursday morn­ ing that Mr. and Mrs. Byron Hawk­ ins of Cathlamet, Washington be­ came the parents of a 10 pound 4 ounce boy early that morning. Mrs. Hawkins is the former Evelyn Ky- ser. Both mother and baby were do­ ing fine. Wednesday evening Mr. arid Mrs. Kyser were at the Robert Ky­ sers to help their granddaughter, Lor- retta, celebrate her second birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Karr of Van­ couver, Washington were Saturday afternoon visitors at the Claude Ky­ ser home as well as the Clarence Kyser family of Clatskanie. Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Kyser were in Forest Grove visiting at the Bill Kyser home. Monday afternoon visitors at the Hugh Cox home were Mr. and Mrs. Pat Carver of Woodson. Mrs. Cox spent Friday through Sunday with her daughters and families in Eugene and Lake Oswego. Hugh accompa­ nied Moon Mullins of Vernonia to Union, Oregon Friday to spend the week end with his daughter, Mrs. Bryan Higgason and family. Mrs. Darrold Proehl of Vernonia substituted for Mrs. Walter Mathews at Mist grade school several days while Mrs. Mathews recovered from a bad cold. Mrs. Charles Hansen visited Tues­ day evening with Mre. Emma Kotka of Clatskanie. Read the ads, it will pay you! Workshop On CWF Agenda February 25, the Christian Wo­ men’s Fellowship met for their regu­ lar meeting in the Christian church social hall. Reports were given, af­ ter which some plans were made for the World Day of Prayer program. The ladies chose March 4 for a bridal shower hcnoring Miss Janet Bruce. This will be at the church at 7:30 p.m. this evening. Plans were started for the spring workshop which will be held here May 10. The devotions were given by Mrs. Josephine Larsen who also read a poem, “Kindness.” The meeting adjourned with the CWF prayer. Mrs. Earl King served refreshments. The next meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m., March 11 in the church social hall. The Momen’s Missionary Study group will meet at the home of Mrs. Earl King March 8. Thirteen members and four guests were present. President Lona Weidman presided over the meeting which began with devotions led by Mrs. Leah Stiff. She read from the 19th Psalm and from the magazine, “Upper Room” , an article entitled “What Christ Offers to Youth” . She finished by reading a lovely poem, written by her own mother, about a person never being alone because God is always near. The business part of the meeting was taken care of and plans made for serving at the Tri-county Exten­ sion meeting in April. A rummage sale and bazaar were planned for the near future. The next meeting of the EUB Cir­ cle will be March 17 at 1 p.m. at the EUB church.
