    Group Attends Troutdale Camp
MIST—Sulo Sanders and Rosemer-
ri left for Troutdale camp Sunday af­
ternoon for a week of meetings. They
will be counsellors at the camp and
were accompanied by Leslie Mazor,
John and Rocky Crawford, Stella
Hrones and Paul Ramsey
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Totten and fam­
ily of Vancouver, Washington spent

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Garlock.
Saturday, after church semices in
Clatskanie, Mrs. Paul Thompson and
Mrs. Fred Bonnell of the Lost Creek
area, Mrs. Vina Sauter of Rainier
and Mrs. A1 Schlehuber accompanied

Roy Hughes' funeral. Mrs, Ijzen and
family have just recently moved into
a new home.
Carl Schaumburg visited with the
Charles Sundlands during the week.
Saturday visitors were Mr. and Mrs.
Don Hail of Morton, Washington, Mr.
and Mrs. Walt Bateson of Hillsboro
and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keefer ol
Portland. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Reyn­
olds and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Salomon
sen, Vernonia, called on the Sund­
lands Sunday. Miss Sharon Sundland
and her folks, the Don Sundlands
spent the week end here.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kyser were
in Forest Grove Saturday to greet
their new grand daughter, Kelly
Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Kyser,
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wickstrom and
baby of Roseburg visited over the
week end with his sister, Mrs. Roy
Kyser and family.
Bud Hemeon called the Fred
Buschs from Boston, Massachusettes
Saturday evening to say hello and
that they were having a wonderful
time. They will be coming home in
the next week or two. Sunday, Mr.
and Mrs. Busch and Marilyn were
visitors at the Pat Seibel home in
Vernonia.
Mr. and Mrs. John Devine and
grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. George
Devine, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Holmes
and Johnny Holmes gathered at the
Sam Devine home Tuesday for vis­
iting and refreshments. Mr. and Mrs.
Devine were dinner guests at the
Loyd Stunkard home in Knappa
Wednesday. They also visited with
the Everett Danielson family while
there. Mrs. Devine visited Mrs. Eth­
el Hirtzel in Portland Friday. Mr.
and Mrs. Max Oblack and Larry
were dinner guests at the Devine
home during the week. ¡Mr. and Mrs.
Ed. Danielson of Banks were short
time visitors, having come for the
Roy Hughes’ funeral.

BIRKENFELD — Mr. and Mrs. E.
T. Johnston and family recently re­
turned home from their trip which
took them to Port Angeles, Washing­
ton from which they took a ferry to
Victoria, British Columbia. From
there they went to Campbell River.
They then took a ferry back to Van­
couver, British Columbia and then
back to Washington. They spent se­
veral days at Enumclaw with Mr.
and Mrs. T. W. Ildstad. They made
their trip with a new 26 foot Travel-
eze trailer house. They had an enjoy­
able time.
Mr. and Mrs. Vick Berg visited at
the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Blake
and Mr. and Mrs. Myers Sunday.
Mr. and "Mrs. Fred Stiiiehfiela |is -
ited at the Tom Hopkinrf home Sat­
urday and at the Nordstroms on Sun­
day.
Mrs. Gene Larson and Susan were
in Longview last Wednesday.
Friends of the community were
saddened over the death of Roy
Hughes and John Acton. The sympa­
thy of all goes to the families.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Bellingham, ac­
companied by Mr. and Mrs. Cecil El­
liott, flew to DuBoLs, Wyoming last
Thursday to visit with the Parmans.
They returned Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Acton sold their
place and moved to Svenson last
Tuesday. Mr. Acton had been in
poor health for quite some time and
passed away Friday.
