    Guests Gather for
Surprise Party Event

TIMBER RT. — Patricia Miller
was a hostess for a surprise birth­
day party honoring Virginia Ber­
gerson and Mary Jones Tuesday
and also a Stanley party. Those
present were Mrs. Barbara Ber­
gerson and children, Mrs. Vilora
Sheppard, Mrs. John Bino from
Timber, Mrs. C. G. Wienecke,
Mrs. Buddy Jones and children,
Mrs. Virginia Bergerson and Mrs.
Wayne Miller.
Wayne Miller received word
that his mother, Mrs. Mary Mil­
ler, from Yamhill had suffered
a second stroke and is bedfast at
the home of her daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. George Fuson and
three children from Portland vis­
ited Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Miller
and family Sunday. Mr. Fuson is
a cousin of Mrs. Miller.
Mrs. Vera Miller visited her
mother, Mrs. Elsie Miller, at Mc­
Minnville Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Huff from
Portland spent four days last week
visiting Mr. and Mrs. A1 Rosser
and family.
Mrs. Ray Clark was a Sunday
dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Stanley.
Mist People Attend
Rainbow Installation
MIST—Mr. and Mrs. Clair De-
vine and children accompanied
by Mrs. Sam Devine, were in
Vernonia Saturday evening to see
the Rainbow installation.
Rev. Elmer Church of Clats­
kanie called on the Clair Devines
one evening last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawton Waddell
attended the visitors meeting at
the Grange in Longview Satur­
day evening.
Mr. and Mrs. George Mathews
left last Tuesday for Peoche, Ne­
vada to visit her son and family
and her mother, Ellen Lydie. They
are to attend the wedding in Cal­
ifornia of her son, Howard, before
returning home.

Dunlaps Return
From Salt Lake
NATAL - PITSBURG — Mr.
and Mrs. Noble Dunlap arrived
home Saturday after being gone
two weeks on a trip to Salt Lake
City, Utah where they visited her
son and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Floyd Deeds. They also visited Mr.
and Mrs. Jess O’Hara in Ameri­
can Falls, Idaho and Edith Died-
rick at Boise.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Oblack took
their son, Larry, to the train Sat­
urday to leave for Kansas City.
Larry is the delegate to the FFA
convention.
Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Wolff and
baby son and Max Wolff all of
Portland were visitors Sunday af­
ternoon at the W. R. Wolff home.
Also calling briefly at the Wolff
home were Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Williams of Newberg.
Callers this week at the Max
Oblack home were Mrs. Maxine
Kyser and children of Mist, Mr.
and Mrs. Reed Holding of Scap­
poose and Lois Willis of Gaston.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Broshear
and daughter, Barbara, called on
Kit and Anita Kennedy Sunday.
The Broshears are formerly of
Los Alamitos, California, now liv­
ing in their new home in Eugene.
They are enjoying every moment
of their time in Oregon.
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Lindsay of
Scappoose visited the R. S. Lind­
says Friday. Miss Ivy Peterson
also visited them Friday. Other
guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Ver­
non Peterson and two daughters
of Vancouver Saturday evening;
Mrs. Nellie Reed and son, Frankie,
also Saturday; and Mr. and Mrs.
Warren Smith and daughter, Mar­
garet, Sunday morning.
Mr. and Mrs. George Turner
and son, Gary, of Portland were
Saturday afternoon visitors of Mr.
and Mrs. W. R. Wolff.
