BIRKENFELD—Last Tuesday
visitors at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Jas. Watson were Mr. and
Mrs. Aaron Duncan and Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Springer all of Portland.
They had lunch with them and al­
so picked berries. Wednesday ev­
ening 48 people of the Mist-Bir-
kenfeld church group met at the
Watsons for pot luck in the yard
with a sing afterwards. Saturday,
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Black of Port­
land visited with them and had
lunch on their way to the coast
for a few days.
Mrs. Fred Larson has the school
bus route over to Neverstil.
Mr. and Mrs. Arby Mills, Mrs.
Joe Lonnquist and Robert Berg
went to the state fair last Thurs­
day.
Shirley Berg is spending a few
days in Portland.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Udey were
in Portland Monday on business.
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Larson and
Duane of Netarts were here Mon­
day. Bud planned to work that
day for Allied Logging Co. but
due to the rain, he did not work
for them, but for Frank Hays.

Merle Cline attended the Crown
Zellerbach picnic at the Wilson
River park out of Tillamook Sun­
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Eckland and
sons spent Sunday at Seaside vis­
iting her relatives: Mr. and Mrs.
Dale Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Tomlin and Mr .and Mrs. Robert
Poole.
Sfc. Geo. Peachey left Saturday
for Fort Hood, Texas after spend­
ing a month here with his moth­
er, Mrs. Grace Peachey. He was
taken to the airport by his sister,
Mrs. Carson Strong and his moth­
er.
Carl Brauner of Vancouver was
here Friday looking after things
at the place that he sold recently
and moving more things to their
new home.
Sunday visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Lloyd were
Mr. and Mrs. Erven Young and
two children and Mrs. W. Brown
of Springfield and Mr. and Mrs.
Claude Norris of Portland.
Mrs. Bud Larson and Duane of

BIRKENFELD—Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Luna are the parents of a girl
born last Friday at the Vernonia
Clinic. Her name is Timi. She
weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and
joins a little brother.
Last Wednesday the Mesdames
Saxon Barlow, Lola Watson, Vir­
ginia Hansen, Irene Kyser and
Mary Sanders attended tha home
extension officers installation and
meeting at the Fernhill Grange
hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wieder-
hold of Aloha were last Thursday
evening dinner guests at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Larson.
Sunday, Sept. 2, Mrs. Jas. Wat­
son and son Leonard and Mrs. L.
Reid and son Larry accompanied
Pastor and Mrs. Sulo Sanders to
Cannon Beach for Bible confer­
ence at which Dr. Robert Lee was
speaker.
