man year tuition scholarships to
Oregon State and will enter for
the fall quarter, according to an
announcement from OSU this
week.
Hays receives the second an­
nual Joe Fisher Ford scholarship
based on scholarship and athletic
ability. While at Franklin, he was
captain of both the football and
basketball teams, was named to

state committee on children and
youth, will be the featured speak­
er.

also will speak on family counsel­
ing and mental health.

in the St. Helens area to get
enough signatures to place the
name of Noel Marshall on the No­
vember general election hallot as
an independent candidate for Co­
lumbia county clerk.
Marshall has lived in the St.
Helens area most of the time since
1939. He is a graduate of the local
high school and Pacific university.
He later did graduate work at the
University of Oregon in secondary
school administration.
For the past year he has been
employed by Public Finance com­
pany in St. Helens.
