Boat Accident
Causes Fatality
RIVERVIEW — Mr and Mrs.
Marlyn Eide were called to Bea­
verton Monday because of the
drowning of his brother-in-law,
Alan Wagner on Sunday. It is still
undetermined what caused his fall
from the boat. He leaves a wife
and three small children.
Sfc. George H Peachey arrived
at the home of his mother, Mrs.
Grace Peachey Sunday on a 30-
day leave after spending 22
months in Korea. He will report
back to duty at Fort Hood. Texas.
Mrs. Maude Wells received
news recently of a new grandson.
Rhys Kevin joined the Ray Adsit
family of West Allis, Wisconsin
July 13. Mrs. Adsit formerly was
Patricia Wells.
Mrs. E. L. Lloyd accompanied
her brother, Myrt Jenkins of
Portland to Texas for their family
reunion, leaving Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Reed of
Boise, Idaho visited Friday at the
Virgil Snook home and also oth­
er former neighbors on the Pebble
creek road.

vine drove to Rockaway Saturday
to get Cheryl who spent a week
at Camp Magruder. They motored
from there to Grande Ronde where
they called on the John Howrys.

of Mr. and Mrs. Shalmon Libel.

Party at Hershey Home
NATAL - PITTSBURG—Devy
Hershey celebrated his sixth birth­
day Saturday. Helping to cele­
brate the event were his grand­
mother, Mrs. Albert Childs, Rob­
bie Wilson of Vernonia; Barbara,
Ricky, Brian and Beverly John­
son and their mother, Mrs. Dick
Johnson and Sandra Tupper and
her mother, Mrs. Ken Tupper.
Several games were played, fol­
lowed by refreshments of cake,
ice cream and koolaid.
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Peterson drove
over towards Delena Sunday and
up the Lost Creek road where
they called on the Paul Thomp­
sons.
The Dyers, Jo, Bill and Patti,
of Murphys, Calif., were house
guests of Kit and Anita Kennedy
recently for a few days.

Patti (Bass) Drips and sons from
Stockton, California were week
end guests at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Eugene Drips. Sunday the
two families and Mrs. Sine Collins,
mother of Mrs. Eugene Drips, at­
tended a reunion of the Bass fam­
ily held at the Shute park, Hills­
boro. Others attending the reun­

rin and granddaughter Becky
Franklin from Dallas; Homer and
Maggie Herrin and daughter,
Wauna; Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Bass

Picnic Attended
NATAL - PITTSBURG — Mr.
and Mrs. W. R. Wolff and Mr. and
Mrs. Ken Tupper and Sandra at­
tended the Dairy Co-op picnic
Sunday at Jantzsn Beach. They
were joined there by Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Graven and Mr. and Mrs.
George Turner and family.
Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lindsay and
Mr. and Mrs. Noble Dunlap were
among those who attended the
Vernonia picnic Sunday.
Vernon Peterson of Vancouver
came Friday to take his daugh­
ters, Karen and Cindy, home after
they had spent the week visiting
their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ira Peterson.
Visitors this week end at the
home of Mrs. Clyde Henderson
were Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lindsay
Saturday evening and Mr. and
Mrs. Chris Kraig Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Noble Dunlap vis­
ited with Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lind­
say Friday evening.

family of Longview spent Sunday
with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. I.

Wilbur Thackers Visit
Daughter in Alaska
TIMBER ROUTE — Mr. and
Mrs. Wilbur Thacker are in An­
chorage, Alaska visiting their
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Royce
Newton and family. They left
Portland July 27 via jet and plan
to be away for a month.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reynolds
left by car Sunday morning for
Riverton, Wyoming to visit their
daughter’s family, the Henry
Harders. After spending several
days in Riverton they plan to trav­
el on by bus to Combs, Arkansas
to visit other relatives. They ex­
pect to be away from their home
about four weeks, if their health
permits.
Mrs. Mildred Hayes and daugh­
ter Tootie and Kay Spieschaert
from Forest Grove visited the
John Siedelman family Sunday
afternoon.
Surgery for Mrs. Linwood Rey­
nolds which was previously sched­
uled for July 27 at the University
of Oregon Medical School hospital
has been postponed due to an un­
expected medical problem. How­
ever she has been rescheduled for
the needed surgery and will re­
turn to the hospital September 1.
Mr. and Mrs. Marion Siedelman
called on the Kenneth Mishler
family Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Exie Weaver is in Seaside
visiting a few days with children
and grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Birt mo­
tored to Vancouver Sunday to
spend the day with her mother,
Mrs. Victoria Rowe. Mr. Birt is
recuperating very nicely from his
recent surgery.
