Ruff, pastor of the Vernonia Bible church, was one of the delegates to the 33rd nation­ al convention of the Independent Fundamental Churches of Ameri­ ca, which concluded their meet­ ings in Southern California June 26. Mrs. Ruff and their son Edwin accompanied Rev. Ruff. They fol­ lowed the inland route going down and stopped at Lassen and Yose­ mite parks. Evangelist Frederick Billings of Dallas, Texas will be conducting services at the Vernonia Bible church from July 22 at 7:30 p.m., Rev. E. J. Ruff, pastor, announced Monday. The guest speaker has been a pastor for 16 years and is the former vice president of The Dal­ las Bible Institute and Bible col­ lege. He has travelled throughout the world and has spoken to thou­ sands of people. During 1962 he will conduct some 28 evangelistic campaigns taking him from coast to coast. Prior to his Christian experi­ ence he was anticipating being a character actor and at one time he was a boxer for almost five years. He is the executive director of an Evangelistic corporation in Texas chartered under the laws of that state. The corporation pro­ pagates the Gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelistic campaigns, radio, television and printed ma­ terials.
