HOURS REVISED
AT POST OFFICE
O. T. Bateman, Vernonia
postmaster, has reported a
change of hours for the local
office beginning next M on
day. Change was made atter
a survey of business people
and of* individual requests at
the office which indicated
the new hours would be
more advantageous.
Beginning Monday, the o f
fice w ill open at 8:3* a.m.
and close at 5:90 p.m. Pre
viously, hours were 9 a.m.
to 5:30 p.m. because of the
need of mill workers to gel
in the office alter 5 p.m. With
that need removed, increas
ing demand has arisen for
service before 9 a.m.
The post office department
ruling is that the windows
be open 8'2 hours a day with
the opening and closing time
left to the discretion of the
local postm aster according to
local needs.
