Rainbow Installation To Seat Carolyn Heath Friends are invited to attend the installation for the Nehalem Assembly No. 18, Order of Rain bow for Girls which will be held at the Masonic Temple next Mon day evening at 8:00 o’clock at which Miss Carolyn Heath will be installed as worthy advisor. Miss Jan Garner, who is just completing • her term will be the .nstalling worthy advisor. The Seaside DeMolay chapter has been invited to participate in the crowning ceremony as they have in the past several installa tions. Parents Tell Engagement Of Judith Fetherston Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Fether ston announce the engagement of their daughter, Judith Anne, to A/2c Robert O. Bates, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dimbat. Reports were given on visita tions to receptions for the worthy grand matron, Imbler; the wor thy grand patron, Portland and the associate grand matron, Hood River. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Davis, worthy matron and patron, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hearing Sr, associate matron and patron, had taken parts in the Portland and vicinity group's addenda for the various honored members. Delicious birthday cakes were served by the refreshment com mittee, Allie Dickson, Julia Fish er and Louise Hamnett. The table decoration was the birthday theme and lovely fall flowers. There will be initiatory de grees for two candidates next meeting, October 2 and a pie walk by the Nehalem Social club ways and means commit tee. During the afternoon, the guests who dropped in at inter vals, were served clam chowder. Thq Kaspars, who have had a cottage at Sunset Beach for a number of years, recently pur chased a three bedroom house there and have been having it extensively remodeled and re novated. THURSDAY, SEPT 26, 1957 Relatives and Friends At Freddy Hall's Party Residents in this area who were pupils at the Kist school about 1911 were interested in clippings from a California paper that were received here recently telling of a reception held at Napa honoring Mrs. Alta Schaaf on her retire ment from teaching in the Napa school system. She had been at Napa since 1943 and prior to that had taught in Oregon and Washington and had a total of over 40 years of teaching. When she taught in the Kist school in 1911, she was Miss Alta Black and it evidently was at the beginning of her teaching career.
