THE EAGLE, VERNONIA, ORE. 2 THURSDAY, NOV. 1, 1956 TOPICS OF THE TOWN Mr. and Mrs. Frank Morris who have been living at Aloha for the past few months, were here on business Friday and announced plans for going to Fresno, Cali- forma for the winter months. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lange drove to West Linn Sunday and brought home Mrs Art Kittle- son who had spent a week there with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Don Riley. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Mrs Jerry Oakes underwent surgery for removal of a goiter at the hospital at Klamath Falls Monday Mrs. Grace Currie had as her guest last week end Mrs. Larry Shannon, th? former Isabel Cur rie, from Seattle. Other callers on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Orville McCabe of Portland, for mer Vernonia residents. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Steen visited Sunday at Forost Grove with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Peterson :md family. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Faul of On tario, California, former owners of the H.v-Van hotel, »were here on business Monday. Joe Taylor, Urban Helvie and Pat O’Brien, all students at Ore gon College of Education, Mon mouth, spent last week end here with their families. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Bledsoe i of Santa Cruz, California arrived here last week end to look after their property in Riverview. Mrs. R. L. Thompson and Mrs. Don Webb visited with Mrs. Fred May at Forest Grove Tuesday. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs W J. Lind- sley included her sisters, Mrs. Otto Hartramph, Mrs A. Dorland from Hillsboro, Mrs. James San ford of North Plains and a niece, Betty Robinson, and two children from Hillsboro. George Stanton Jr., grandson of Mr. and Mrs. W. J Lindsley of Riverview was married Saturday at the Luthern church in Corval lis to Miss Anne Buss of that city, The newlyweds will make their home m Albany. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lindsley and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Hibler of Eugene at tended the ceremony and Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lindsley brought their parents home, stay ing overnight with them. Rev. and Mrs. Vincent Gowen at Port Blakely, Washing ton, fell October 22.and fractured her hip She underwent surgery at the Swedish hospital in Seat tle on the following Saturday and had a pin put into her hip. She came through the operation even better than was expected, but may have to remain in the hos pital for s<»m time. Mrs. Kelley is the niece of Lee Rogers. Mrs. Harold Shipley and Mrs. Florenz West spent Wednesday in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
