THE CHURCHES Vernonia Bible Church Plans Vacation School BY GEO N. TAYLOR Portland. Oregon The small boy tied one stick across the other to make a cross like that on which Christ died for our sins. This cross he pressed into the earth beside the house and figured that God would see how the boy had laid hold on Christ as dying for his sins. By that the boy counted h i m self saved. In later years, he became a traveling sales man. Sundays he offered him self as a boys' teacher and as a rule, in the various churches, was given the 14-year-o!ds to teach. Today, he sums it up—Once born into God's family, you are his forever. He gives you eternal life, saving you for peace of lieart in this life and glory in the ages to come. This space sponsored by a Seattle family. Loyalty Drive Calls Assembly The theme this Sunday at the Assembly of God Sunday School is “Loyalty to our Testimony of Salvation Through Christ.” The campaign is conducted from Eas ter until June 6 with the idea in tnind of being faithful to school attendance. Everyone appreci- ates the love of a mother, All have been made to know the sac- rifices of mothers, even to the extent of giving their lives for the rescue of a boy or girl from the peril of death, yet men's thoughts need to be turned to the love of Christ whose love brought atonement on the cross for all who will believe. Friends are invited to the Sunday school and church services Sunday when mothers will be honored, It is expected that a guest speaker will be present for the two services. The Vernonia Bible Church has set June 7-18 as the date for their i VERNONIA BIBLE CHURCH Daily Vacation Bible School. Don Darling. Pastor Improved building facilities, an Pete Raney. S. S.
