ORE, Teachers Given PTA Reception I The Mist Parent-Teachers as sociation held its first meeting of the term with a teacher reception the evening of September 30 Welcomed to the community were Mrs Archibald, principal and teacher of the upper grades and Miss Scott who instructs the lower grades. David Larson, newly-arrived pastor in the community, gave the invocation. The Larsons extended invitations to the people to at tend services at the little church at 8:00 o’clock Sunday ev nings. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderegg of Vernonia spoke in the absence of Renan Arteaga; IFYE student from Ecuador, who had be n called to eastern Oregon where he will resid" on a ranch for the remainder of his stay in this country. Cake and coffee pre pared by P-T.A. members were served by the Busy Bees 4-H cooking club. The P.-T.A. will meet again on October 15 to sponsor 4-H club achievement. Harold Black, Co lumbia county 4-H agent, will present pins and other awards and local 4-H members will par ticipât- in the meeting which will op n at 8 00 p.m. All interested persons are asked to attend. One Award Claimed From Last Selection Only one of the three numbers chosen last Saturday at Bruns man Hardware was claimed up to Wednesday morning. Third prize was taken by F K. Thomas. First and second numbers are 8456 and 5873. In the future when awards are not claimed, additional num- b’_ rs will be drawn instead of in creasing the amount of the award Pete Brunsman said yesterday.
