Vernonia Temple No. 61, Py thian Sisters, met April 6, with MEC. June Willis presiding. Knight’s initiation was exempli- fkd for Charles E. Miller, Fred erick C. May and Bruce Watson. Ladies initiation was exemplified for Rose Miller and Darlene May. A letter was received from Co lumbia 4-H leader Harold Black stating that Caroline Heath had been selected to receive the Py thian Sist:r 4-H scholarship. A com march was held to raise funds for this scholarship. A letter was r^ad from Clar ence Piper from the K. P. home at Vancouver thanking the Tem ple for a rose bush sent him for the rots gardens at the hörn'1. Final plans were made for at tending district 5 convention at Forest Grove April 8. Many members were welcomed back after illness, including Het- ti Petersen who recently suf fered a broken arm in a car ac cident. Following adjournment, deli cious refreshments were served at tables beautifully decorated for Easter by Laureta Lamping. Rea- tha Horn and June Willis, as sisted by Zelda Lamping and Cleo McNair. The hostess prize was won in an auction by Bruce Watson. The next meeting will be April 22 and will be Past Chief’s night. Mt. Heart Social club meld its regular meeting Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Louis Grav en. Plans were completed for the turkey dinner to be given next Saturday, April 11.
