Picking of the crop has been
going on since May with an av­

grub. Control measures should
be applied when the first grubs
are noticed on the back of the
animals. Treatment should be
repeated every 30 days.
The cattle grub or heel fly as
it is more commonly known is
hard on milk and beef produc­
tion in April, May, and June.
That is egg laying time for th-
heel fly and cattle do a great
deal of running to avoid the fly.
There are no control measures
for April, May and June, how­
ever. Farmers who want to keep
heel fly away from their cattle
should do something about it
