Mighty Worker 'GEMS OF THOUGHT License Granted Church Member FIRMNESS Only a firm foundation in Truth can give a fearless wing and a sure reward. —Mary Baker Eddy With malice towards none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right. —Abraham Lincoln The greatest firmness is the greatest mercy, —Longfellow I know no real worth but that tranquil firmness which meets danger by duty, and graves them without rashness. —Stanislas It is only persons of firmness that can have real gentleness. —Rochefoucauld The purpose firm is equal to the deed. —Edward Young Through Christ, Cod created the earth, the sun, moon, stars and even the universe farthest off— "All things were made by Him — By Christ — John 1:3. At last came man, fre? to sin or not as he might choose. And man chose to sin. But even at that God stands by and gives us day and night, seed time and harvest and at last, God gave Christ, His Only-Born Son, to die for you. Receive Him as your own Lord and Saviour and God gives you eternal life. For the Saved — Having eternal life, look utterly to Christ, the Mighty Worker, to power you with old days out and new days in. —“Christ in you the hope of glory”—Col 1:23 — BIBLE. This space sponsored by a family of the county. The following is a quotation from The Challenger, a publica tion of the Eight Avenue Baptist church in Fort Worth, Texas, re ceived in Vernonia by Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Herrin. “Stanley Edward Franklin will be licensed to preach the Gospel Sunday in the evening service. Brother Stan, a member of our church, will be presented his license to preach in a short cere mony during the evening wor ship. Feeling his call to Chris- tion service, Brother Franklin is willing to use his talents to the glory of God. “We. as members of the church, should count it as a real privilege to grant a license to this God- called man. “Brother Stan came into the fellowship of our church this fall and is a student at South western Seminary, and we feel God has richly blessed us in granting his service to his Savi our to be channelled through our church.” Mr. and Mrs. Franklin (the former Beverly Herrin) are both students at Southwestern Theolog ical Seminary. They were mar ried in Minneapolis, Minnesota last June.
