God Has Her Babe BY GEO. N. TAYLOR Portland, Oregon When the little one was a few days old, mother slipped into the room to see that all was well and she found the babe dead. Put the blame on Adam, our first parent, for by Adam sin entered into the world and death by sin and so death has passed upon all men. See Romans 5:12 BIBLE. And, sinning, we are lost to God. But He yearns to have us back and he gave Christ the Creator and Upholder of the Universe, to die for us. Choose Him as your own Lord and Saviour and Christ creates in you a new heart with all your sins off record, for His blood cleanses from all sin — 1st John 1:7. Also Christ died for babes too young to choose for themselves — “In heaven their angels do always behold the face of the Father. “Christ’s pledge — Mt. 18:10. Back in Bible times they bring David word that his infant son is dead. As God’s prophet you hear David say that he cannot bring the son back again by mourning, but that he will go to the babe—2nd Samuel 12:23. And just so, you Christian mothers will also go to the babe whom God has for you. Only so you have Christ as your own Lord and Saviour. This space paid for by a Port land businessman. The Message This Week 116 QUESTION: As a beneficiary receiving monthly checks based on federal old-age and survivors insurance, I would like to know if I can work in a restaurant during the summer and still re ceive my retirement benefits. ANSWER: Not unless you earn less than $14.99 a month. The social security act does not per mit a beneficiary of federal old- age insurance to receive his bene fit for any month in which he renders services for wages of over $14.99 in employment cov ered by that law. However, any income you receive from other sources will have no effect on your benefit and will not cause a suspension of your pay ments. Thus you could work on a farm, for a govermental unit, or operate a business of your own and still draw your benefits. Week Spent at Calif.
