This was a kneeling-prone match which proved difficult for some of Vernonia’s best shooter, but not for Harold Peterson and Ben George who led the Vernonia team with the high score of 194. Circle Meeting Date Set for March Date MIST — Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Saxon are rejoycing over the arrival of a boy over a week ago at a Portland hospital. The Mist Helping Circle will meet the fourth Thursday in March with Mrs. Wm. Bridgers in Vernonia. The wedding bells rang Feb ruary 22 for Vivian Laird of Vernonia and Wayne Reynolds of this town. They were mar ried in Washington. Wayne, with his folks, has lived here for quite a good many years and during the last war served his country. He’s another of the boys and liked by all who knew him. They plan on selling their home here and returning to California to make their fu ture home. Joe Roeser and L. P. Wikstrom were Forest Grove motorists one day last week. Mrs. Joi Checmanek has just returned home from a visit in Texas with her brother and other relatives. She went by plane both ways and enjoyed a wonderful trip. It is understood the school dis trict is negotiating for a piec? of land from Wikstrom to make a ball ground. Leonard Egerton and his wife are away working in Salem for the time. Mr. Egerton was down during the week end looking over business interests. Paul Wikstrom had the mis fortune to break his arm Thurs day.
