Roberson Mrs. Dan Cason, secretary, presided in the ab sence of Mrs. Brous, president. Of special interest was a letter to Mrs. A. J. Hughes concerning Care packages and another from Missionary Leland A. Keuaklick of the Evangelical orphanage Aisenryo, Raiha Mura, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The orphanage is a new insti tution caring for 59 orphans at present whose parents were war casualties or who were seperated from them at the time of repat riation. The greatest need there at this time is to train Japanese women to become leaders and a request was made for teaching material such as books and maga zines on nursing and child care and pictures. Any church, classi cal or sheet music would be use ful. The Deborahs voted to send a package to the orphanage and will collect any of the items mentioned and be responsible for sending them to Japan. Mrs. Henry Schlegel had charge of the program. Christmas carols were sung and the group was favored with a duet by Rev. and Mrs. Paul Sisler. Mrs. L. H. Roberson Jr., as sisted the hostess. Eastern Stars Add New Members, Elect Mrs. H. E. Schlegel was ini tiated into Nehalem Chapter No. 153, O.E.S. Wednesday evening. Mrs. Henry Schlegel, Sr., of Port land was a special guest. The annual election of officers followed and Dorothy Sandon was elected Worthy Matron; Harry Sandon, Worthy Patron; Frances Mullins, Associate Ma tron; Paul Gordon, Associate Pa tron; Mona Gordon, secretary; Janet Bridges, treasurer; Edna Linn, conductress and Florence Messing, associate conductress. Installation will be held Wed nesday evening, December 21 at 8:15.
