Let's Be Sociable Rebekahs Elect New Officers for Year The regular meeting of Mt. Heart Rebekah Lodge was held November 24 in the Odd Fellows hall with Jewell Robinson, Noble Grand presiding. Under the reg ular order of business was the election of new officers for the ensuing term. Those elected were: Ione Justice, N. G.; June Ray, V.G.; Nellie Thomas, re cordingsecretary; Gladys Strong, financial secretary and June Wil son treasurer. Heart Rebekah Lodge met at the home of Vera Willard on street Tues day evening with 25 members present. This meeting was also the annual Christmas party meet ing and gifts were exchanged among the members. Under the regular order of business new of ficers were elected for pext year. Those elected were: Faye Davis, president; Silvia Turner, vice- president; Ethel Landers, secre tary and Annetta Pearl, treasur er. Also coming under new busi ness were plans for the annual Odd Fellows-Rebekah Christmas party which will be held in the Odd Fellows hall, Tuesday even ing, December 20. yUl members and friends and families are cordially invited. A program is being planned, there will be treats for the children and re freshments for the grown-ups. The next regular meeting of the club will be at the home of Silvia Turner, January 3. Re freshments of sandwiches, pick- els, pie and coffee were served by the hostess, assisted by Gen eva Killingberg. The American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a Christmas party for the Teen Age club very soon, the date to be set at the next meeting of the youngsters. The Christmas party for the members of the Legion and Aux iliary is to be held on the next meeting night of the men which is December 19. Everyone is re minded to bring a small gift to be exchanged. A 50c limit was agreed on by the Auxiliary. Due to the absence of Isabel Culbertson at the regular meet ing of the Auxiliary, Louise Lar son, vice-president, acted as sec retary. There will not be an other meeting of the Auxiliary until January 3, 1950. Birthdays Honored Mr. and Mrs. Joe VanderZan- den entertained with a dinner in honor of their daughter’s birth day Sunday, for Miss Betty Van- derZanden and their neice Mrs. Danny VanderZanden’s mother, Mrs. G. W. Paulson, who’s birth day was Sunday. ' Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Danny VanderZan- den, daughter, Dorothy, son, Cur tis, of Banks, Mrs. Mary Spier- ing and Mathew Theewen of Hillsboro, G.W. Paulsen and Mrs. Ben Meiwes and daughter, Mar garet. THE EAGLE, VERNONIA, ORE. diger and Mrs. Toothacher joined the society. The society plans to have cro cheted doilies, hot dish mats em broidered and stenciled dish towels, plus cooked food, at the bazaar Saturday, December 10 in the Eagle hall. Also there will be very fine men’s ties. These will make ex cellent Christmas gifts. Past Chiefs Club Parties Tuesday The Past Chiefs club of the Pythian Sisters held their regu lar meeting and Christmas party at the home of Fern Kullander Tuesday with vice-president Zel- da Lamping in charge. After the business meeting and interesting discussions, Christmas gifts were exchanged. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess.
