Hieber, Attorneys for Administratrix 21t5c School Problem Talked at Meet CAMP McGREGOR—The Glenn Johnson family motored to Sea side Saturday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Everette Pea and family. The Camp McGregor school dis trict held its annual school meet ing June 20. Problems arising for the educational program were thoroughly discussed. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Howard were in Vernonia Saturday and also visited their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Howard. Mrs. Peterson’s sister, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mortenson, of Port land came to Camp McGregor to spend Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Eric Peterson. Mrs. Verda Cook, Margaret and Donnie, motored to Goble Wednes day to visit Mrs. Cook’s sister, Mr. and Mrs, Cecil Urie and child ren, Opal Dee and Donna Jean. Opal Dee was a graduate of the Rainier high school last Friday evening which the Cooks attended with the family. Karen and Krieg Hoover of Portland and their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hoover, Portland, picnicked with the Sliffes on the Nehalem recently. The twins stay ed with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Arland Sliffe, tor a week. Oregon Camp People See Rose Festival CAMP McGREGOR — Mrs. Dawn Lee, Carol and Laurence motored to Portland Friday to attend the Rose Festival. The Lee family motored to Seaside to take in a show Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Waite, Jr., and children were among those going to Seaside Sunday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Nelson former residents of Birkenfeld, attended the Pioneer meeting at Birkenfeld, leaving Camp Satur day for Portland and seeing the Jr. parade, then on to Birkenfeld Sunday morning and returning to Camp Sunday evenig. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elton have rented the Jack Taylor house in Camp formerly rented by the Harold Howards. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Howard motored to the golf course Sunday to return their grandchildren, Davey and Nancy Dean, to their parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Ho ward. The children had been visit ing the grandparents for several days in Camp. Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Bemis accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Joe Doyle and sons, to Vernonia Sat urday and on to St. Helens to visit friends, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Morgan. The group returned Sun day bringing Mrs. Margaret Bar- low of St. Helens for a week or so visit with the Doyles. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Larsen, David and Margaret of Portland brought Mrs. Larsen’s mother, Mrs. Frances Fairly, back to Camp after a nine day stay in Portland at the Fairly home. Danny Mason has been visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Daugherty in Ridgefield, Washington since May 28. His parents and sister, Jeannie, motor ed up to Ridgefield Saturday for him. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Mason and Jeannie motored to Seaside recently for a day at the beach. Corky Morris of Port Townsend, Washington arrived at the home of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Britt Morris, May 28 for an extended stay. John Husby an other nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Morris, arrived in Camp June 11 for a week. Britt Morris and Bill Mason are to be in Vernonia for the ball game Monday evening. They will be accompanied by Mrs. Bill Mason, Mrs. Mritt Morris and Kathy and Danny Mason. Little Sharon Mason is visiting at her cousin’s home, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Sportsman, at Oak ridge until July 4 at which time her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mason, plan to visit the Sports mans and bring Sharon back to Camp. A group of ladies surprised Mrs. Verda Cook with a birthday party June 9. For Paateurized QUALITY Vernonia Meets Every Friday MIST — A most interesting program was presented Sunday at the Pioneer meeting at Birken- eld following the dinner and busi ness meeting. Aileen Johnson very ably rendered a sax solo accompanied by Stella Bellingham; Mrs. Wedge of Jewell treated the pioneers to an accordian solo; Austin Corll, Jr., sang “Twigh- light on the Trial”, doing his own accompanying on the guitar; Glenda Corll and Marlene Gray sang and yodeled, Glena playing the guitar; Leonard Egerton play ed two numbers, the “Doll Dance" and a Chopin number; Bernard Dowling sang “Danny Boy” and “Gal-way Boy”, Mr. Egerton ac companying him on the piano. Professor Coffee from Portland led the audience in “The Bells of St. Marys." A poem written for the occasion by Bessie Dowling was read by Mrs. Hult and John Banzer wrote quite an early his- tory that was thoroughly enjoyed, Robert Berg reading it.
