M c M innville — The first
highway post office to be put
into operation in the Northwest, a
veritable railway mail car of the
turnpike, rolled into McMinnville
early last week in a survey run.
It will go into operation January
10 serving the route from Port­
land to Corvallis via Hillsboro,
Forest Grove and McMinnville.

the total of last year, according
to school census figures released
by Austin Scrafford, county school
superintendent.
