W........................................... 12 By MELVIN SCHWAB This week the Huddle will play up members of the second string who in future years will be the Loggers first squad. Several mem bers are already making strong bids for first team positions. Bobby Adams, 145 pound guard, looks very promising in practice and while Ron I^tFollett was off for a week, managed his posi tion very nicely. Bob, who is only a Sophomore, could easily be converted into a fullback, hav ing played in the backfield seme this year on the second string. He might possible be in the starting line-up this coming Friday. Adams shines both in his blocking and tackling, being very tough in there at the guard position. Marvin Eby, another Sophomore on the second string, plays the position of tackle and had con siderable action in the Columbia Prep tilt. Marvin especially shows on defense and will see action in trying to stop the Scappoose tricky backfield. The other second team guard position is held by Gene Wall, who is credited with being the peppiest member of the squad, is a Junior this year and weighs only 134 pounds. Despite his size he tackles and blocks viciously and with a little more seasoning will develop into a good ball player. He is captain of the second string. Word was passed to the Huddle this week that Marvin Turner and his Runt football squad has started turning out again with the ap proach of decent weather. Don’t You Remember Me7 With the deer season just half over Monday the Oregon state game commission reported a high return of deer hunter report cards, which are required this year for the first time. Well over 5,000 ' reports have been received. The great majority of these represent kills as hunters not yet making a kill will undoubtedly wait until the end of the season before re porting. Tillamook, Harney, Lake Grant and Klamath counties con tinue to lead in number of kills reported. Robert Mace, chief of big game for the commission, expressed his thanks to hunters, for their prompt reports and asked that other hunters continue this fine cooperation. He pointed out that it is just as important that the hunters make a no kill report as well as those that are suc cessful in bagging a buck. - < < King’s Grocery .........................
