Mrs. Nordgren fell and broke her hip. Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Nord­ gren are old friends from Spokane. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Hess are on vacation this week from the golf eourse. The course is being main­ tained by Mr. and Mrs. John Roediger who have been staying there during the owners’ absence. Mr. and Mrs. Hess are expected back today, Thursday, from Omak, Washington where they have been since leaving a week ago Tuesday, noon as well as L. E. McGee. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Main- waring of Portland came to Ver­ nonia to visit Mrs. Mainwarings’ parents and family, the George L. Millers.
