Mt. and Mrs. Oscar Lee Golden
announce the marriage of their
daughter, Helen Louise, to Larry
Marshall, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Dave Marshall, Saturday, April
24, Portland, Oregon.
Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Tousley
moved last Saturday from their
home on South First Avenue to
the O-A hill.
They purchased
the home formerly owned by Mr.
and Mrs. Oscar George.
Here to spend the week end at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Judd
Greenman were their daughter
and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Burrow and children of Portland.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. J.
Douglass last week end were Mr.

Mrs. Dow is the
former Zonweiss Douglass.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Manning and
daughter, Frances, of Portland
and Herbert Olin, Kelso, were
here to spend Mother’s day with
Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Olin.
Here last Sunday from Portland
were Mrs. James Condom and
Garnet Condon, mother and bro­
ther of Mrs. E. W. Peterson, and
Mrs. Dave Pauley and daughter,
'Candis. They spent the day at
the E. W. Pe erson home.
The district assembly of
Church of the Nazarene was
in Portland First Chdnch
week. Those attending from

nonia were Rev. and Mrs. H. L.
Russell and Mrs. Gilbert Brown.
The women’s convention was held
on Tuesday and the young people’s
convention on Saturday.
The
Sunday night closing service was
held in the Civic Auditorium with
a choir of 300 young people under
the direction of Professor Lush.
Because of the serious illness
of Mrs. Browns mother, she was
detained in Portland for an in­
definite length of time.
Ernest Nanson arrived in Ver­
nonia Saturday from Chula Vista,
California by plage to visit his
brother, Art Nanson, and family
and to attend the, 1932 class re­
union of Vernonia high school.

Charles Bergerson has been
visiting for the past two weeks
with his son, Wallace Bergerson,
and family in Warrenton.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Smith and
family spent last Sunday in
Beaverton visiting Mr. and Mrs.
Alven Kauffman and son.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Robinson
plan to leave here Saturday on
a two-weeks vacation trip that
will take them to Amarillo, Texas.
Accompanying them on the trip
will be Mrs. Charles Southard,
mother of Mrs. Robinson, who has
been here visiting for the past
month.
Mr. and Mrs. Chet Dusten and
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Weichman
and son,. all of Portland, were
here Sunday to spend Mother’s
day at the homes of Mrs. Fannie
Owens and Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Engen.
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Calhoon
are the parents of a boy, Kenneth
Harold, who was born May 8.
The baby weighed seven pounds.
F. M. Ruhl left Tuesday for
Kansas City, where he will visit
relatives while on his vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd St. Cla’r
from Kansas City, Missouri were
here to visit friends Tuesday of
this week. He is a lumberman.
Mr. and Mrs, Virgil Moore,
Portland, parents of Mrs. Dick
Fletcher, were here to spend last
week end at the Fletcher home,
Among those going to Portland
Tuesday of this week were Mrs.
Fred Tousley, Mrs. Guy Wilbur
and Mr. and Mrs. Grunden.
. Mrs. Mae Mulkins was hostess
for a stainless steel supper dem­
onstrated by Harry Coppenger
HANK'S PARTS HOUSE
and niece, Miss Waunda Coppen-
ger, both of Portland. Those pre-
sent for the supper were: Mr.
and Mrs. Royce Newton, Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Kreiger, Mr. and Mrs.
Otto Bittner and Lloyd Osborn of
Keasey, Mrs. Verna Loop, Mrs.
Ray Yaunkee and Les Loop of
Bellingham, Washington.
Mrs. Pat Galloway, who has
been severely ill, is recuperating
nicely at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Hulan Thacker, at
Treharne. Baby Tamara Ann is
fine and both mother and daugh­
ter expect to return home soon.

moved into the house at the corner
of Bridge street and Rose Avenue.
He is employed as machinist at the
O-A.
Mrs. Alfred Jones has received
word from Mr. Jones stating that
he is doing nicely.
He is at
Holliday Park hospital, Portland.
Les Loop of Bellingham, Wash­
ington visited his niece, Mrs.
Verna Loop, and family over the
week end.
Lester DeHart and Ronald Gra­
ham had the misfortune to crash
their cars at 2nd and Bridge,
damaging both cars somewhat.
