Among those from here who were in Portlmd Tuesday of this week were Mrs. Dave Marshall and Mrs. Walter Olinger. Mrs. Albert Childs was in Portland Monday and Tuesday of this week to visit relatives. Toy Collie pups. Spofford Ken nels, Vernonia, Ore. It Mrs. Ray Mills returned home from the Emanuel hospital, Port land, last Thursday following a recent knee operation. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Anderson are the parents of a daughter, Elizabeth Ann, born Wednesday evening, February 11 at the Forest Grove hospital. She weigh ed six pounds, 11 ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Judd Greenman returned home last Wednesday from a trip to Kansas City, Kan- sas. The trip there was made to attend the funeral of his moth er, Sarah Greenman, who passed away recently at her home at Long Beach, California. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lamping, Jr., are the parents of a son, Milton Oliver, bom last Saturday, February 14. DANCE Friday, February 28 at Legion hall. Arkie and His Jolly Cowboys. J. E. Buckley and wife of Yak ima, Washington, spent the week end with the Corral Buckley fam ily. The Mrs. Hilda Keasey, Bessie Toothaker, May Mellinger, Edna Parker and Iva Gillham of the Keasey extension unit, met at the Morris home to finish their foot stools which are being made as a county unit project. Mrs. Edith McFarland visited a friend in Portland last Thurs day. Howard Baker, who has been quite ill, is reported very much improved. Miss Betty Counts, who has spent most of the winter taking treatments at the I polio hospital in Portland, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Herb Counts. Mr. and Mrs. Warren E. ham and daughters, Patsy Dusty Staley, and Virginia guso’n, their niece, are visiting the Gillham ranch. Illness Strikes In Riverview RIVERVIEW — Those on sick list last week were Mrs. Geo. Bell, Jackie Greenwood, Joan Lindsley and Hank Hudson. Mr. and Mrs. V. M. Lindsley and family spent Saturday evening at the W. J. Lindsley home. Mr. and Mrs. Mirt Jenkins and family of Portland and Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Atkinson and family of Scappoose visited at the Bud Rose home Sunday. Myrtie Rose and Mirt Jenkins celebrated their birthdays together. Guests at the J. A. Wirtz home over the week end were Mrs. Bertha Wirtz and Mary Leeann of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Bleiziffer of Beaverton and Mr. Mathew Stagl of Tualatin. All were old North Dakota neighbors of the Wirtzs. • The week of June 2 to June 8 saw only one traffic fatality re ported in Oregon in 1946. That was the lowest record for any one week of the entire year. Lindsay to attend the annual fern hoppers banquet of the So- eiety of American Foresters. Henry Clepper, executive secre tary of the Society and managing editor of the Journal of Forestry, was principal speaker at the af fair. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Taylor were here Saturday evening as guests ily. She expects to return to Oregon sometime in March. Lee White is in the Good Sa maritan hospital, Portland, for a complete rest. He has been there since week before last. Mrs. J. B. Wilkerson was at Lakeview last Saturday to be pre sent for the funeral of her son, Ben, who was married to Miss Virginia Utley at a large church ceremony followed by a reception. Ben Wilkerson formerly attended school here and will be remem bered by a number of local people. He is employed in a bank at Lakeview. June Childress spent last week end here from Portland where she had been in the Physicians and Surgeons hospital for treat ment for burns suffered when her home burned some time ago. Al though she is still under a doc tor’s care, her bums are healing satisfactorily.
