Statistics of the game give the Beaverton team credit for not being able to hit the hoop. Defensively the Loggers had two players who held their men to no field goals, but if Beaverton had played the game with more luck m shooting, the outcome might have been closer as far as stand ing of the count Turning in a good job of defense for the win ners were Tapp and Cline. Since last Friday, the squad has been undergoing an intensive drill on the fundamentals of man-to- man defense, the results of which may be apparent when the Log gers and Pacific U’s Frosh tangle tonight, Thursday, at 8 o’clock. Foul shots missed Friday might have cost the Loggers the game, had the score been close other- wise. Of 25 shots taken, 10 counted while Beaverton sank 10 out of 18. Hergert has asked the fans to watch the games and see whether he is correct or not in saying that, in a close ball game, the number of foul shots made will determine the winner. Practice has been intensive on this phase of the game also since last Friday. The prelim game Friday went to Beaverton 17 to 2 with Chalmers caging two foul shots to keep the Logger B team from a com plete shut-out. Lineups with Beaverton were: Vernonia Beaverton Thompson 4 f 3 Rasmussen \\ illiams 12 f 4 O’Donnel Cline 13 c 10 Kemmer frank 5 4 Lali g Tapp 5 13 Huling c Graham Walker DeHart Fisher Sword 5 Haines Crowston Davis Roberts Cox Officials: Gordon and Nance.
