LET'S BE SOCIABLE Mrs. Robertson Hostess To Deborah Society Gift Fund Increased By $49 from Auxiliary Mrs. Hamp Robertson was host ess Tuesday afternoon for the December meeting of the De borah Society. Guest for the event was Mrs. Hamp Robertson, Jr. The group will meet again Jan uary 6 of next year with Mrs. Wesley Bolmeier. The American Legion Auxiliary met Tuesday evening at the Legion hall. It was reported $49.00 had been sent to headquarters to be used for purchasing gifts for the hospital bed side gift shop table and gifts for child welfare. A cigarette fund has been Start ed to purchase cigarettes for the Veterans hospitals. Several of the Auxiliary mem bers are sending thread to be used by the patients in the TB hospital at Salem. Plans were made for the New Year’s Eve Carnival dance. The music will be furnished by the Rythm Vendors. A Christmas party is being planned for Legion and Auxiliary members and their husbands and wives. This party will be held Monday evening, December 15 on Like a Sandwich? We make the best in town. Have you tried one ? THE COZY • The Friendship club met at Mrs. Tom Crawford’s home for the No vember meeting. After a lovely luncheon was served by the host ess and her mother, Mrs. Brown, plans were made for a Christmas party to be held at the home of Blanche Millis December 18. Eight members were present in cluding: Mrs. Will Chalmers, Mrs. Claude Gibson, Mrs. Ralph Mahar, Mrs. Harvey Crume, Mrs. George Miller, Mrs. A. E. Wood, Mrs. Elizabeth Brown and Mrs. Millis. Mrs. Atkins was the guest. • Holiday Guests Are Entertained MIST—Mr. and Mrs. Joe Roeser Butch, and the small daughter motored to Lincoln county and had Thanksgiving with her sister, Mrs. Chet Clendenin and family. They stayed the week out. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Wikstrom, Sr., had Thanksgiving dinner with their son, L. P. Wikstrom Jr. Mr. and Mrs. C. .0. Hansen were Friday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Melis. Mrs. Minnie Clark will leave for her home in Monroe, Wash ington Wednesday. She has spent the past two months here with her brother, A. R. Melis, and wife. Thanksgiving dinner guests of the Charles Hansen family were: Mr. and Mrs. Salmi, Mr. and Mrs. R. Schroeder, Sue and Peter, Mr. and Mrs. G. Salmi, Johnny and Georgeanne, all of Marshland, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Ford and son, Misses Priscilla and LaVern Han sen, Mr. Ted Kulyu, all of Port land, E. Koshi of Quincy and Robt. Roeser of Mist. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sundland and Sharon came down from Mc Minnville and spent a couple of days last week during Thanks giving with his folks, the Charles Sundlands. Mrs. J. 0. Libel and family were Sunday dinner guests of the A. E. Jones family. Mr. and Mrs. McCool, Jerry, La Vonne and Dorothy Huntley spent Thanksgiving in Portland at Mr. McCool’s mothers. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reynolds Georgialee and Kenneth spent the week end at Sweet Home with' Mr. and Mrs. Chester Reynolds.
