Importance of
Vote Emphasized
Emphasizing how important it is
for every eligible farmer to vote
in ACP program elections this
year, E Harvey Miller, chairman
of the Oregon state PM A com
mittee, said that these elections
offer farmers an opportunity to
have a voice in the administration
of their own program.
The world food crisis which
calls for continued abundant pro
duction, measures to combat the
soil erosion and depletion that are
wearing away our limited produc
tive land faster than corrective
measures can be taken, and con
sideration by farmers of plans for
a long-term program are among
the many challenges facing farm
ers in tie coming year. These
call for a >le community and county
committeemen.
Mr. Miller said that the con
servation program can be effective
only Ty electing to these key

leaders in developing and encour
aging farming practices to main
tain soil and who can and will ef
fectively carry out the many other
