Hed­ lund of Portland as Oregon State Chairman of the 1918 March of Dimes for his ninth year In the position was announced today by Dasll O'Connor, president of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. The 1948 March of Dimes, to be held Jan. 15-30, marks the tenth anniversary of the National Foun­ dation. established by Franklin D. Roosevelt to "lead, direct and unify” the fight against Infantile paraly­ sis. The National Foundation Is supported solely by the annual March of Dimes each January. Dr. Hedlund long has been active In the work of the National Foun­ dation. He Is a former president of the Oregon State Board of Dental Examiners and Is fourth vlce-prest- dent of the National Association of Postmasters. In announcing that Dr. Hedlund has accepted the state chairman­ ship.
