ATLEY SEZ:
Howdy Folks: Auto accidents
are on the increase. Almost
daily we read of tragic cases on
the highway.
Many drivers are in such a
hurry to get into the next
county, they keep right on
going into the next world.
Just remember folks it’s bet
ter to be a small pebble on the
beach than a large tomb stone.
We’d like to have you remember us when you need lubrication
because that is the time we would like to MARFAK your ear.
You'll like the results.

Police Begin
License Check
State police have begun check
ing Oregon driver’s licenses in
Columbia county, it has been dis
closed by Robert S. Farrell Jr.,
secretary of state. Many licenses
in this area are known to be past
due for renewal.
Under the new law passed by
the 1947 legislature, all Oregon
drivers’ licenses expire during the
next two years. They become void
according to serial numbers, low
est numbers first. The expiration
date printed on the face of the
permit is, in most cases, no longer
correct.
All drivers’ licenses numbered
between 5R-66,000 and 5R-99,000
expire this month. Permits with
numbers lower than 5R-66.000 ex
pired earlier in the summer.
A complete schedule showing
when each permit must be renewed
is available free from service sta
tions, sheriff’s offices, and driver’s
licenses clerks or examiners.
