Frank and Roy and Lois Frank left Tuesday morning for Brooks where they will spend a week attending the Assembly of God camp meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Dutch Murray of Libby, Montana are visiting in Mist and Vernonia with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roeser and Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Mansfield. Mrs. Mur ray is a sister to Mrs. Roeser and Mrs. Mansfield. New neigh bors living in the place formerly occupied by the Morgans are Mr. and Mrs. George L. Miller from Mist route. Miss Helen Frank returned last Thursday from a two-week vaca tion trip which she spent visiting the Grand Canyon, Zion National park and points of interest in California. M rs. O. S. Poynter and Mrs. Macille Grady represented the Ver nonia V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary at Grants Pass where the 1947 en campment was held. The encamp ment was held from June 18 to 22. Bill Horn was in Portland Fri day of last week to represent the Vernonia American Legion Post at the Legion’s annual state conven tion. Orin Wheeler of Massena, New York was here last Friday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Harry Culbertson. Mr. Wheeler is a cousin of Mrs. Culbertson. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCabe were here Monday evening and Tuesday of this week visiting friends, They left Tuesday after noon for Seaside where they plan to spend several days. Mr. and Mrs. Frank O’Rourke of San Francisco arrived here Sat urday to spend a month visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dave Brunsman. Also here to visit at the Dave and Bert Brunsman homes for a week and one-half are John and Marian Brunsman and Mr. and Mrs. Don ald Spencer, all of LaMoure, North Dakota. Dave, Bert, John, Marian and Mrs. Spencer are brothers and sisters. Delbert E. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Minger recently spent a few days in southern Oregon, stopping at Cra ter Lake and fishing. They also celebrated their sixth • wedding anniversary. The Minger’s child ren, Kathy and Diana, stayed with Mrs. Minger’s sister, Mrs. Opal Count*. Miss Mary Pat Caton spent last week end here from Portland. She visited Miss Mary Coyle. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Vaughan and daughter Virginia, returned last week from Los Angeles where the Vaughans had been on a vacation, Charles Drake from Walder, Texas spent last week visiting _ with Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Lilley. Mr. Drake is a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Lilley. Going to Seaside Sunday to at tend the Lewis and Clark celebra tion were Mrs. Jack Heenan, Mrs. Walter Olinger, Mrs. Dave Mar shall, Mrs. Grayce Bundy and Mrs. Ruby Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Norris spent last Sunday at Banks at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hollis Hartwick. Mr. and Mrs. John Burnside were visitors in Portland for Mon day and Tuesday of this week. Holly Holcomb left Saturday by plane for New Orleans where he will spend about two weeks visit ing his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Holly Holcomb, Jr., were here Saturday to see the elder Mr. Holcomb be- fore his departure. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hansen and daughter, Carla, of Sweet Home were here to visit friends several days. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. John Roediger left Sunday for Seaside where they plan to remain until the July 4th holiday. The Roediger’s children, Vickie and Joan are in Portland with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hewitt, parents of Mrs. Roediger. Mr. and Mrs. George Freeman are the parents of a boy born June 28 at 2 a.m. The infant weighed 10 pounds. Janet Peterson left Sunday for Camp Namam on the Sandy river for a two-week stay. This is her third year at the Camp Fire Girls camp. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Throop of Dayville was the scene of a large family reunion last Sun day and Monday, June 22 and 23. Those present, besides Mr. and Mrs. Tom Throop and a daughter and son-in-law, were Lewis Throop of Molalla, Mrs. Clive Mills of Vernonia, Mr. and Mrs. Herrel Throop and a son and daughter-in- law, all of Laurel, Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Throop and son of Lower Lake, California, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Jordon of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Cheldelin of Toppenish, Washington, a son and family of Nyssa, a son and family of Toppenish and a daughter and family of Portland. Mrs. Cheldelin, Mrs. Jordon and Mrs. Mills are sisters of Lewis, Tom, Herrel and Floyd Throop. This was the second time their lives the seven brothers and sisters were together so it was certainly a very happy reunion.
