MIST — Orville Jones and Al
Smith from Seaside came up Sun­
day to help Oscar Jones plant some
potatoes on the Libel ranch.
Austin Corll was in Clatskanie
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Trotter
have moved from Natal back to
their farm on post creek.
J. 0. Libel has been in Portland
the past week for observation. He’s
feeling somewhat better.
Mr. and Mrs. George Jones were
visitors in Seaside recently, taking
Mrs. McCauley home. She’s been

MIST — Mr. and Mrs. Clyde
Henderson were expecting their
daughter, Leia, and family from
Seattle to spend the week end and
also their son, Norman, and fam­
ily from Portland.
Mr. and Mrs. Noble Dunlap
were shopping in the village from
Natal Monday evening.
The Chas. Sundlands had a
landscape gardener down from
Portland the first of the week
beautifying their grounds.
The McQuistion family is mov-
ing soon from the property recent­
ly owned by E. Roper but now sold
to Emory Closner, who has moved
in.
The L. P. Wikstrom’s Sr. and
their guests from the east took
a motor trip down the Lincoln
county beaches as far as Florence
for a few days last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Percy Ballett
drove to Astoria Memorial day and
visited friends.
Floyd Libel and family came
down from Fairview and visited
his parents, the J. O. Libels, Fri­
day evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Alden Ashley were
sightseeing in Astoria one day
recently.

School Meeting
To Be Held
MIST—Mr. and Mrs. William
Bridgers drove to Roseburg and
visited their niece over the holi-
day week end.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills from
Vernonia took charge of the store
and post office Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Austin Dowling
were Clatskanie visitors Saturday.
J. L. George was taken to Port­
land last week where he still is
for observation. He returned from
Texas recently after suffering
a stroke.
Mrs. C. L. Waddell’s mother,
Mrs. Minkey, has been visiting her
the past two weeks from Van­
couver.
The Mist Helping Circle met
last Thursday at the Garlock
home. After a most appetising
dinner of fried chicken, the bus-
iness meeting opened and the
usual run of business was taken
care of. Our present caretaker at
the cemetery, Mr. Jepson, has the
ground looking well, we find.
There were two new names
handed in for membership and
two visitors present. Mrs. Emery
Closner and Mrs. Minkey. Our next
meeting will lie with Mrs. Chas.
Hansen on the 4th Thursday.
There is a big question coming
up at the annual school meeting
the 3rd Monday and all members
as well as those of the community
are especially urged to attend.

Mr. Hendrix has moved his mill
from a setting on L. Wikstrom’s
place, where he has been sawing
for Wikstrom, down to Jewell
where he is again sawing for Mr.
Wikstrom.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Enneberg
were in the village from Mayger
last Thursday.
Mrs. Noble Dunlap and Mrs.
Wm. Bridgers were in Portland
last Tuesday.
A very welcome rain, that didn’t
come too soon, gave the ground a
drenching which is surely needed
Sunday during the electrical
storm.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Brown
attended the graduation exercises
of her sister at Hamond Thursday
evening.
The L. P. Wikstroms and the
Carl Wikstroms took a trip to
Portland Tuesday to see the town.
