Farrell Jr. Over 470,000 vehicles have been licensed so far this year, and the total by December 31 is expected to be well above 500,000. This will be the first time in the state’s his tory that cars have passed the half-million mark. About 360,000 to date have been passsenger cars. “The current Oregon traffic pic ture is that more cars are being driven farther and faster than ev er before,” Farrel said. "To the in dividual driver this means he is in greater danger and has more re- sponBibilty than ever before.” With vacation travel swelling highway volumes to record levels, motorists are being reminded to take it easy on that gas pedal. Deaths on main roads are setting new high marks. NOTICE NOT responsible for any bills other than my own.
