Phone 776 Bacon to Enforce Weed Control Law Several meetings have been held recently throughout the county by land owners and farmers rel ative to the enforcement of the noxious weed control law. This law provides for elimination or control of these weeds, principally, Canada thistles which during the past several years have spread over a considerable area mucth to the detirment of farmers and the dairymen. J. A. Bacon, county weed con trol officer, states that the sen timent expressed at these meetings was that the law be strictly en forced and penalty be assessed for violation or none compliance. “This” Mr. Bacon said, “will be done as I have no alternative and all fines collected will go into the weed control fund which will serve to reduee the amount ex pended which will benefit the general taxpayer of the county.” “He stated also, that it would soon be time for him to inspect lands for violations of the law and he expected to visit all sections of the county. A matter brought to his atten- tion at the meeting was that some of the land owners had made con- sistent efforts towards control or elimination of the Canada thistles but adjacent land owners had not. Therefore, the neglected land where the weeds were not con trolled, would spread seeds to the controlled lands.. This, according to the sentiments of the meetings, was not fair to the person who observed the law, hence the res olutions for strict enforcement and penalties. 26” 8 pt Saw $3.75 Key Hole Saw $1.25 20” 10 pt Panel Saw 5-Gal Can Motor Oil $3.95 Felt Red, Gray Black Hats $1.25 Tricycle $11.95 « u Com fiare both PRICE and QUALITY io see how much you save at SAFEWAY - ■ I Co//ee, Hew Low Brice! 23c i-ib pt,. 29c »•'*■ pi,. 29c i-ib.pi,. 24c American Cookies Tea Timer Crackers Ritz Crackers Wheat Toast Wafers No. Vh cot 25c Diced Pears H!l N.. 1'/1 15c Canned Prunes ®,,e” r’’ No. 303 ¡or |5C Fancy Plums »'•• r<” Grapefruit Juice <<0' 21 c Grapefruit Juice ,Q"i° •' T”m 21c « •> 23c Blended Juice Bl,nd 0 «-«. 25 c Tomato Juice ‘•""f Dq*’ Quart bol. 49c Grape Juice Quart bol. 35c Apple Juice s ‘ * Important as it ia, price is not the first consid eration in the food Safeway sells.
