2 THURSDAY, MARCH 27. 1947 THE EAGLE, VERNONIA, ORE. I Our Oreat America it fy Mack O b Wednesday March 19, Mr, and Mrs. J. M. Currie entertained in honor of their daughter, Mrs. H. G. Quedens, who will soon leave for Manila. Mrs. Quedens left for San Francisco the 26th and will return to Vernonia for several days before her boat, the S.S. China Mail, leaves Portland on April 18. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lange were called to Grangeville, Idaho by the illness and death of Mrs. Lange's uncle, Andy Johnson, who had visited with them for five weeks this winter. Mr. Johnson left here March 1 and after visit ing in Portland for 10 days went to Boise from where he continued to Grangeville by plane, He ar- rived there Saturday and was taken ill Wednesday. He passed Rainier Ice Cream Cent THE COZY away Thursday, March 20 at 2:30 and was buried in Grangeville Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Lange and Mr. and Mrs. T. L. DeHart and daughter, Sunny Lee, left here Thursday noon and returned Sunday evening. Mrs. Lange’s aunt, Mrs. Ellen Cain, went up from Portland on the train. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Malm- were visitors week end sten before last of their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Greathouse, at Cedar Hills. Also there during the week end were Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Griffin of Camas and Mr. and Mrs. Mar shall Malmsten and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Knauss of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Malmsten are planning to build a home at Cedar Hills later this year, possibly in May.
