Wills, and husband. • Frozen Pipes Cause Damage MIST—When the Wickstrom family returned from California their home had suffered from broken water pipes. The floor was like a skating rink and icicles were hanging from pipes in the stove. A doctor was called from Ver nonia one day last week for Mrs. George Jones, who has been ill a long time. At this writing re ports are that she is improving. Several residents of Mist and vicinity are beginning guitar les sons, among whom are Margie and Shirley Wickstrom. J. W. Houry made a business trip to Salem one day last week in the interest of the state high way. The Nehalem unit of county demonstration met Friday at the home of Mrs. Charles Hansen. Winter salads was the subject. The pupils enjoyed a week’s vacation from school tasks dur ing the holidays. There were 22 relatives gath ered at the Garlock home Christ mas; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Gar- lock, Mr. and Mrs. Bern Bliss and four children, of Sand lake; Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Larson of Bir- kenfeld, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gar- lock and two children and a grand daughter and family. The Mist Helping Circle will meet the fourth Thursday in Jan uary at the home of Mrs. Alton Ashley. A family recently moved into the old Farnk Malenberg place. We were unable to learn their name. Mr. and Mrs. J. 0. Houry spent Wednesday at Seaside with his parents. Guests over Christmas at the J. O. Libel home were their two daughters and families, the Ed Lindbergs from St. Helens and the Francis Bu.nhams from Port land and their son Floyd and family from Fairview. The Wm. Bridgers entertained the following guests over Christ mas: Mr. and Mrs. S. J. De Rock from Mayger, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Smith and two children from McMinnville and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills and son, Loren, from Vernonia. Lincoln Peterson purchased the little cottage on the H. Mr. Peterson sold his farm land at Natal some time ago to Ralph George. John Thomas of Delena started work with the crew of men on the state highway Monday.
