A happy Thanksgiving day was spent at the home of Mr. and Mra. Dennis Davis, Sr., on Clat sop street. Children and grand children present were Mr. and Mra. D. Lee Davis and two sons, Jimmie and Jerry, of Hillsboro; Mr. and Mrs. Orin M. Davis and daughter, Virginia Redner, of Yamhill; Johnnie McCloud of Gas ton, and Charlie Davis of Cherry Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Graves, former residents of Vernonia, now in the restaurant business at Gddbeach, California, visited his parents, the W. T. Graves, and fgiends during Thanksgiving. Mrs. and Mrs. Norman Hamnett and son, Ray, spent a pleasant Thanksgiving day at the home of her parents in Portland. Among the guests there were. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Ruh and daughter, formerly residents of Vernonia. Mr. and Mrs. Hamnett took in the O.S.C. game Saturday in Portland before coming home. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Anderson and sons, Kenneth and Jack, mo tored to Portland to attend the Oregon State-University of Wash ington football game at Mult nomah stadium Saturday. They returned Saturday evening in their new car. Mrs. Frances Mullins and sons motored to Portland Thursday with Ervin Mullins and his mo ther, Mrs. Elizabeth Mullins to spend Thanksgiving day with Mrs. Mullins’ daughters and their fam ilies. Mra. Frances Mullins re turned home Friday with her sis ter, Mrs. Bill Lumm, and daughter, who remained in Vernonia over the week end. Ellsworth Gustaffson spent the week end in Portland with the Guy Hansons. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hanson and family of Vernonia and Mr. and Mrs. Cleetus Hanson and family of Forest Grove visited their parents, the Verne Hansons, of Keasey Thanksgiving day. Edward Cater underwent a minor operation Saturday at the Emmanuel hospital in Portland. He is at home now and doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Joe McNutt, stu dents of the University of Ore gon, visited their parents and friends during Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Aldrich and chiljlren attended the Santa Claus parade in Portland Friday. Mrs. Cloice Hall of Portland visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ace Lolley Thanksgiving day. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hewitt of Portland visited her sister, Mrs. Lee Jessee, and their daughter, Mrs. J. C. Roediger and family last week. PEARL Harbor Dance December 7, Legion Hall. Roediger and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Roediger visited Mrs. Ed Roediger, Jr., and baby daughter at the Forest Grove hospital Thanksgiving eve ning. Mrs. Ed Roediger, Jr., re turned home Sunday with baby Jean Marie. Captain and Mrs. Grosscroff of Portland were with the Judd Greenman’s for supper Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bur row and sons of Portland and Mr. and Mrs. Hale Greenman of Medford spent the Thanksgiving holiday with the Judd Greenmans, parents of Mrs. Burrow and Hale Greenman. Harry Culbertson had Thanks giving dinner with the Elmore Knights. Truman Knight, who is attend ing O.S.C., visited his parents and friends over Thanksgiving. Tru man is studying chemical en gineering. Hugh Caton, also at tending O.S.C. and studying ani mal husbandry, visited friends in Vernonia and returned to Cor vallis with Truman Knight. Guests of the Dan Cason home for Thanksgiving dinner were Mr. and Hrs. Harold Cason of Port land, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Roberson of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. Er Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Sturdevant and son, Ralph, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Hartzell, Mrs. Verla and Pa tricia Porterfield and Jean Mc Donald. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hall enter tained with a Thanksgiving day dinner for Mary Hall from Ore gon State, Jim Binkley of Port land, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Quarles and son, Clifford of Newport and Mr. and Mrs. John Hall of Ver nonia. Mrs. A. B. Killingsberg recently received word from her son, Wil liam R. Hall, S2c, that he had been taken to the naval hospital at Treasure Island with a frac tured and broken toe. He will be there until Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Carrick and two children, Leland and Joyce Anne, also Pete Carrick spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Killingberg. Rev. and Mrs. H. L. Russell spent the week of Thanksgiving in Salem, with their son and fam ily. Friday evening they stopped nest Nance and Karen. Mrs. Pearl Adams and son. Bob, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Archie Adams and children to Sweet Home Thanksgiving. Mrs. Florence Messing and Mrs. Verla Porterfield were in Port land Friday and on Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Messing and Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Porterfield visited the Layers of Neskowin. A Thanksgiving dinner was en joyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marble Cook of Beaverton. Present were Mr. and Mrs. H. Cook of Jerome, Idaho, parents of Marble, Mr. and Mrs. Harding of Ashland, parents of Mrs. Jess Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Nel son, parents of Mrs. Marble Cook, Margaret Burich and daughter, DeAnna, daughter and grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. JesS Cook and son, Stanley, of Beaverton. Mr. and Mrs. Marble Cook’s children, Keith and Marlene were also present. Part of the evening was spent visiting the new KEX studio in Portland where Jess Cook is employed.
