DEAR EDITOR«
,
Please allow me a few more
lines. Any cause that has to re
sort to falsehoods is lost. The
Dollarites say our Oregon State
Pension Plan will pyramid taxes.
Hawaii’s experience for 11 years
proves different.
They say the unions are
against us. A union friend cut
out a good article from his union
paper that is one of the best ar
guments I have read anywhere
outside of our Townsend paper.
So its another mistatement. A
Portland paper had an article
telling of how the Christian
church held a meeting to de
nounce our Plan. I wrote to the
minister. He was terribly sur
prised. They were too busy at
better business than talking
against the aged, the blind and
the crippled. They had held no
such meeting! 1
Falsehoods are sharp boomer
angs and return to the one using
them.
Let us all read and think for
ourselves! Our bill is a life in
surance. Our assets are the same
as Uncle Sam’s, “The People.”
—Mrs. A. E. Jennings.
