Trent Garner, brother of E. E. Garner, and family arrived here recently from Jacksonville, Ore. Until they find a home in Ver­ nonia, they are living at the O. G. Weed home. Mr. and M rs. Emil Messing were hunting in the China Hat area near Bend a few days ago and brought home a 200-pound buck. Others in the party were Mr. and Mrs. Vic Creson, Mr. and Mrs. George Boresum and Harold Weaver of Garibaldi. Three other bucks were shot by the party.
