borah Circle which held its Sep­
tember meeting. During the aft­
ernoon an election of officers
named the same people to serve
for the coming year or until next
July.
The officers are: Mrs. A. J.
Hughes, chairman; Mrs. Walter
Olinger, vice-chairman, and Mrs.
Roberson, secretary-treasurer.
Mrs. Cleo Caton was a guest
at the circle meeting.

Mrs. Bauersfeld
Honored at Shower
Mrs. Kent Bauersfeld was the
guest of honor at a shower given
at the home of Mrs. Ed Reich­
wein last Thursday evening. Mrs.
Reischwein and Mrs. J. A. Bush,
Jr., were hostesses for the af­
fair.
Twelve guests including the
hostesses were present. After the
honor guest had received her gifts,
refreshments were served.

Mrs. Rogers’ 82nd
Birthday Celebrated
A group of neighbors and
friends gathered at the home of
Mrs. L. A. Rogers on Thursday,
September 5 to celebrate her
82nd birthday. A delightful pot­
luck dinner was served at noon
to about 20 guests. Guests pres­
ent for the affair from out of
town were Mrs. Nelson Rogers
and daughters, Janet and Roberta,
from Salem and Mrs. Minnie John
from Portland.
The Vernonia Study club will
meet again, after the summer va­
cation, on Thursday, September
19, at 6:30 p.m., at the home of
Mrs. H. G. Sandon. This meeting
will be the annual birthday party,
at which time birthday pals for
the past year will be divulged and
new ones drawn for the ensuing
year.
