Mr. and Mrs. Paul Malmsten
left Friday morning of last week
to return to their home at El
Segundo, Califorina, after spend­
ing a week here visiting Mrs.
C. A. Malmsten and Mr. and Mrs.
Dayton Ross. On the way to Ver­
nonia from California they visited
Yellowstone National Park.
Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Berry are
the parents of twin boys born
August 11 at the Forest Grove
hospital. They have been named
Harvey Dean and Hervey Gene
and the former weighed in at
four pounds two ounces and the
latter at sipc pounds. Grandpar­
ents are Mrs. Blanche Spires of
Vernonia and L. C. Berry of Sa­
lem.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Turner
returned to their home here last
Thursday aftei' a three-week’s va­
cation trip wh ch covered nearly
4400 miles. They visited friends
and relatives in the following
cities: Grand Island, Central City,
Hastings and Lincoln, Nebraska,
and Independence, Missouri.
First of the commodity farm
organizations to announce dates
for the annual winter meeting is
the Western Oregon Livestock as­
sociation which will meet in Sa­
lem December 12 and 13, reports

R. C. Burkhart, Lebanon, presi­
dent, has announced that an
earlier date was selected this
year to permit consideration of
legislative matters by the asso­

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Thomas
have moved here from Forest
Grove where they formerly made
their home. He is associated with
the Nehalem Dairy Products com­
pany in charge of milk deliveries
and began his work there Mon­
day of this week.
M rs. Earl Thibeau was a guest
of Mrs. Maude Kobow from Sun­
day until Wednesday morning of
this week. She left Wednesday
for Seattle with Mrs. Mary La­
vine.
Mrs. Thibeau, a former
school instructor, here will teach
this year at Seattle and Mrs.
Lavine, who also taught here last
year, will instruct at McMinnville
for the coming school year.

week, where he has a logging
operation now going full blast
with quite a crew of men at work.
Floyd Libel spent the week end
with his parents, his wife coming
down after him Monday evening.

have seven feet of water in the
well.
J. Houry’s sister was a guest
at their home last week.

a nephew from Washington are
visiting her sister, Mrs. L. P.
