Another event for club members
and friends is also announced this
week by the tournament commit­
tee in order to raise a fund
for the purchaes of trophies. A
week after this Sunday a basket
social will be held at the club
house to which every member is
invited and is asked to bring a
guest. Ladies are asked to bring
baskets which will be, auctioned
off to highest bidders. Calvin Da­
vis, John Roediger and Kent Bau­
ersfeldt a^e the committee mem­
bers who make the social ar­
rangements.

flight in the Vernonia Country
Club’s tournament to name a club
champion. Bauersfeldt goes into
the final play after defeating Ed.
Reichwein last Sunday and Bate­
man does the same after win­
ning over Jack Anderson. Thirty-
six holes of good golf is on tap
for fans that day if they follow
the championship play.
Some
other good matches are also sched­
uled. Firet flight winners last
Sunday were Bob King and Cal
Davis who will be matched this
coming Sunday.

Some good entertainment with
a lot of laughs is promised next
Monday evening when a donkey
softball game is scheduled at the
city park field at 8 p.m. Tom
Bateman is in charge of most of
the arrangements and advertising
for the event which will be played
under lights.
Acting as sponsor for the game
is the V.F.W. and one of the
teams will be composed of vet­
erans he said Tuesday.
The other team will be under
the tutelage of Bert Tisdale and
is to be known as the Trehame
Terriers. Names of the players
were not available yesterday.
